Nearly two thirds of breaches involve a human factor: at France-IX, each working group raises the others’ awareness of phishing

Atelier en salle : de nombreuses personnes travaillent en groupes autour de tables, devant une diapositive « L’essentiel de l’atelier » qui détaille les règles, l’éthique (« Pas de vrai malware ») et des idées de pièges.

Nearly two thirds of breaches involve a human factor. The best technology in the world does not protect against that. The only serious answer: train the teams.

An email that seems to come from your IT department, a call from “IT support” asking for your credentials… These are the small, insignificant actions that can happen at any time and that account for the phishing of 60% of French companies that reported a significant cyberattack* in 2024.

60%
of French companies hit in 2024 were hit by phishing
2 months
of awareness-raising per working group each year

Because, yes, everyone is fallible, the most technical teams as much as the administrative ones.

Today, social engineering attempts are increasingly sophisticated. They use AI models to remove syntax errors, clone executives’ identities, personalise messages to the extreme, exploiting the wealth of information that has already leaked…

As a result, the usual warning signs (the badly written email, the odd address, the suspicious link) are less and less reliable.

More than vigilance, it is becoming essential to raise your teams’ awareness all year round. Particularly through workshops that encourage collective intelligence.

At France-IX, each working group has a two-month slot over the coming year to run awareness-raising with information, traps, simulation tools…

Which allows each group to be both trainer and trainee.

The idea behind all this is to create the conditions for everyone to be more vigilant together. Cybersecurity is above all a human issue.

No one will ever be invulnerable. Neither are we. So we raise our teams’ awareness and, more importantly, we make them awareness-raisers themselves. And who knows, a few tools might end up on framagit ;)
