  • 08/08/2013

In September 2013 France-IX’s board will evolve. France-IX is an association who owns a private company – France-IX Services - to run day-to-day operations. France-IX relies on a board to ensure its right guidance to success. The turnover of one third of the board is meant to ensure the neutrality and professionalism of the internet exchange point. Applications to join the board can be sent to France-IX as from today.

The board is currently composed of 6 companies: Akamai, Bouygues Telecom, Google, Interxion, Jaguar Network and Neo Telecoms.

Out of these 6 members, two positions will be randomly selected to be reelected, knowing that the outgoing companies can apply again. This renewal of part of the board is meant to ensure the neutrality and the professionalism of the associative point.

    Board member’s commitment

The board member is invested for 3 years. The elected representatives commit to participate to conference call meetings twice a month and to face-to-face meetings once to twice a year.

The board’s mission is to represent the members in the strategy of the exchange point. Therefore the board takes part in the strategic decisions such as the evolution of services and pricing.

    The application process

Any candidates willing to apply must submit the following documents to board-candidates_at_franceix.net before the 15th of September in English:

    • +    Curriculum vitae/resume
    • + Cover letter explaining which contributions the candidate will bring to the table

Each and every application will be reviewed by the existing board. The applications will then be presented to the members during the general meeting on the 26th of September 2013 and be voted.
