  • France-IX deployed interconnections with the IXPs SFINX in Paris, LYONIX in Lyon, LU-CIX in Luxemburg, Top-IX in Turin and TouIX in Toulouse, enabling France-IX's members to peer with theirs.

    General rules

These interconnections are limited to 100 Mbps per member. Above this limit a direct connection to France-IX or to the other IXPs is required. Thus France-IX can deny the access to this service to a member if its traffic exceeds the limit.

An IXP can not be used to do transit between partner IXPs or between a partner IXP and tier IXPs.
    * Only members of the partner IXPs can peer with France-IX members.
    * If a member from a tier IXP, connected to a partner IXP but not to France-IX, would like to peer with a France-IX member, a direct connection to our point is necessary.

This service does not involve additional costs.
To access the interconnections' service, contact us at l2-support_at_franceix.net.

    Interconnection with SFINX

    Logo SFINX

If you want to peer with a SFINX member, you have to contact this partner first (cf. www.sfinx.fr , in the "connected members" area).

If the partner agrees on peering with you, it will contact the SFINX to sign an appendix to its connection agreement and the SFINX NOC which will configure its ports in TRUNK mode (if it is not already the case) and will authorize the France-IX Unicast VLAN on its port (VLAN 4).
Once done, the SFINX member will be allocated an IP address and the peering can begin.
With a France-IX IP address, the SFINX member will be able to peer with any France-IX member. To activate the service, please contact info_at_franceix.net.

    Interconnection with LYONIX

    Logo LYONIX

The peering between France-IX and LYONIX members are managed by a LYONIX router. BGP communities were specifically defined to mark LYONIX routes received on France-IX route servers. Then, France-IX members can easily identify these routes.

This solution doesn't require for France-IX or LYONIX to allocate additionnal IP addresses to the members.

To activate the service, please contact info_at_franceix.net.

    Interconnection with LU-CIX

    Logo LUCIX

A France IX member can peer with potentially all LU-CIX members. In this case France IX members will obtain IPv4 and IPv6 addresses to peer with LU-CIX. In the same manner LU-CIX members who want to peer on France-IX will obtain IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

To activate the service, please contact info_at_franceix.net.

    Interconnection with TOP-IX

    Logo TopIX

A France IX member can peer with potentially all TOP-IX members. In this case France IX members will obtain IPv4 and IPv6 addresses to peer with TOP-IX. In the same manner TOP-IX members who want to peer on France-IX will obtain IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

To activate the service, please contact info_at_franceix.net.
