As a non-profit association, France-IX needs to gather up its members once a year so that members can close its accounts and renew its board committee. This event was held remotely on 15 December 2020 (please check the “Archives” section for full feedback and vote results). However, a second General Meeting will be held, again remotely on Friday 29 January 2021.
This Extraordinary session will be dedicated to the election of the 2 remaining seats within France-IX’s board. We indeed decided to split the Board elections in two in order to ensure equity with the Rezopole members, who are today integrated as France-IX members and thus will be able to cast their vote. We thus want to encourage as much as possible the Rezopole representation into the new board by allowing Rezopole’s members to support and vote for the candidates from their community. The election results will be announced on the 29th on our website and social networks.
As for the previous General Meetings, France-IX is providing its members with the option of completing all procedures online.
All members at the date of the General Meeting are invited to vote
The following rules apply:
• One vote per company is allowed, regardless of the number and level of services activated or the number of AS networks connected to France-IX. In other words, a member with a 200Mbps service has one vote and a member with multiple 10 Gbps services for one or several of its ASN has one vote as well.
• One vote per company is allowed, regardless of the number of cities where its services are activated. In other words, a member who peers in Paris has one vote and a member who peers in Paris and Marseille has also one vote.
• One vote per company is allowed, regardless of the number of different agreements with France-IX. In other words, a member with a peering agreement and a reseller agreement has one vote.
• Companies with a peering agreement can vote, as well as companies with a reseller agreement. However, companies who peer via an interconnection service (LU-CIX, Top-IX, TouIX) and marketplace providers cannot vote.
A quorum of 25% of voting members is required, according to the articles of the association, so that the implication of the members is very important.
Members are invited to renew the two remaining Board seats at France-IX's board. The resumes and cover letters of all candidates are posted on France-IX’s online voting platform, along with video presentations when available. Please take the time to review them before voting. The candidates who receive the highest number of votes will be elected to the board committee. To read the requirements for the candidates, please visit this page: https://blog.franceix.net/two-new-seats-to-be-filled-at-france-ixs-board/.
France-IX provides members with an online voting solution. The service is made available a few weeks before the GM. Vote results will be announced on Friday 29 January 2021, at the end of the day on our website. Please note that voting by mail is not accepted. France-IX members receive the elector ID and password by email sent to their elector email address (by default, the peering email address as displayed on France-IX public members list). The link to the online voting system is https://franceix.simplyvoting.com. By following this link and entering your elector ID and password sent by email, you will access directly the votes. Click on the question and you can submit your vote in seconds. It is simple, fast and easy. Once your vote is recorded, the results are encrypted and stored in a database. Your company is then considered as “voted” and is not eligible to vote again for the same elections. For any question, comment on the elections, the process or support to access your login details, please onlinevoting@franceix.net.
Two seats are to be renewed on next January, 29th. Here are the 6 candidates to fill these vacancies:
