On August 20, 2015 was held the SENIXP workshop at Résidences Mamoune in Dakar, Senegal. France-IX was the main sponsor of this event.
Objective: the creation of the Senegalese Exchange Point
Organized by the Telecom Ministry of Senegal and Bocar Kane, Chairman of Kaylene group and member of France-IX's Board, the workday gathered different profiles networks including banks, ISPs, operators, IT integrators.
The event aimed to present the benefits of an exchange point for each network profile, to present the structure of an exchange point of being created and to agree on a date for general meeting.
Financial support and expertise provided by France-IX
In the past, members of France-IX’s team animated ISOC training in Africa to see the creation of local exchange points.
By providing financial support and sharing his extensive knowledge of the different needs of peering type profiles, France-IX continues its support and hope to see the project succeed SENIXP.
Edit: the internet exchange will finally be called SENIX and not SENIXP.
